ACB Championship Game 1 Victory for Vásquez and Halifax
The Halifax Golden Giants moved to within one game of the Round 3 today, downing the visiting Poughkeepsie Sheriffs at Golden Giants Stadium by a score of 4-1. Golden Giants right-hander Sergio Vásquez was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 9 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Golden Giants a - advantage in the best-of- ACB Championship.

Vásquez, the Halifax right-hander, went 9 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 5 hits. He collected 5 strikeouts.

"It's hard to overstate how much this mattered to us, especially in a short series," Halifax manager Matt Szczepanski said.
