Home Loss Shrinks Haymakers' Series Lead to 3-2
Joe Todd was not ready to let the Division Finals end.

With the Newark Gunners backed into a corner, the right-handed Todd held off the Philadelphia Haymakers. He took player of the game honors after he threw 9 innings of 5-hit ball. The win cuts the series deficit for the Gunners to 3-2 in the best-of-7 series.

Todd pitched a complete game for Newark. The 25-year-old right-hander was charged with 1 run on 5 hits. He struck out 4 during his 105-pitch performance.

Said losing manager Jon Lyons: "Give the Gunners credit. They took advantage of our mistakes."

The next game is set to be played Thursday at The Armory. The scheduled starters for the game are Will Jardine for Philadelphia and Ramón García for Newark.
