Sasquatches Rally Past Bucks to Claim 1-0 Series Lead
The Saint John Sasquatches powered past the visiting Moncton Bucks, 7-5, in the opener of the Division Finals at Saint John Stadium today. Saint John third baseman Ignacio Martínez went 1-2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, to lead the charge. The Sasquatches now lead the series 1-0.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Martínez hit a fastball from Luis Lara for a 2-run home run. The Sasquatches, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

Martínez said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."

Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow at Saint John Stadium. The scheduled starters for the game are Luis Padilla for Moncton and Olezka Rochegov for Saint John.
