Pivotal Game Goes to Host Superbas, 6-5
The Rockville Superbas needed some late heroics to do it, but ultimately emerged one game away from the Round 3 today. The Superbas needed 10 innings before taking the 6-5 win against the Phoenix Firebirds in a walk-off at Rock Creek Sports Complex. Rockville shortstop Warren Simpson was named player of the game after he went 1 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The win gives the Superbas a - advantage in the best-of- ACB Championship.

The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Mike Moore came to bat in the bottom of the tenth. Facing Phoenix pitcher Jorge García, he hit a 2-2 slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Rockville on top, 6-5.

"This place was rockin'," said Moore.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Rock Creek Sports Complex in Rockville. Slated to start are José Chapa for Phoenix and Tsuginori Osada for Rockville.
