González, Crossings Sink Golden Giants Again in Game
|
Mexicali Crossings right fielder Jesús González was the difference-maker at Golden Giants Stadium today, winning player of the game honors as he led his club to victory in a pivotal Game of the Sunset Trophy. The Crossings took the 8-5 win over the Halifax Golden Giants to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.
It could have been a different outcome for Mexicali, had it not been for Mike Crum, the 30-year old second baseman . Crum contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Mexicali up, 2-1.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," González said.
The next game is set to be played Friday at Mexicali Grounds. The scheduled starters for the game are Will Duke for the Halifax Golden Giants and Rhys Green for the the Mexicali Crossings.
