Almost There: Halifax On Cusp of ACBC Triumph After 7-2 Win
|
Game was big. So was Will Duke.
The Halifax starter rose to the occasion at Mexicali Grounds today, earning player of the game honors after leading the Golden Giants to a crucial 7-2 victory over the Mexicali Crossings. Duke threw 7 innings of 1-hit ball as the Golden Giants won on the road to seize a - lead in the best-of- ACB Championship.
In his 95-pitch effort, Duke allowed 1 earned run on 1 hit over 7 innings. He walked 1 and struck out 1.
"We were a little off-kilter to start the series, but we're getting things figured out now," Halifax manager Anthony Puhl told reporters. "At least I hope we are."
Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow. Slated to start are Louis Hutchinson for Halifax and Mark Tucker for Mexicali.
