The Brooklyn Bums are one game away from a sweep after a 5-2 win over the visiting Liverpool AC at Bushwick Stadium today. Bums right-hander Tony García was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 9 innings of 5-hit ball. Brooklyn now holds a - advantage in the best-of- ACB Championship.

Tommy Whitney went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles for Brooklyn. In the bottom of the sixth, with the teams deadlocked, 2-2, Whitney delivered for the Bums. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Brooklyn on top, 3-2.

"I got everyone together and told them they did great today," Brooklyn manager Kirk Medlin told BNN reporters after the game. "But I warned them that even if we make it out of the ACB Championship, it's only going to get harder."
