Still Kicking: Bangor Cut Philadelphia Series Lead to - With Late Win
|
The Bangor Lumberjacks are now one game away from a sweep of the Philadelphia Haymakers after a dramatic walk-off win in the 10th inning at Lumberjacks Ballpark today. Lumberjacks right-hander Bilal bin Harun was named player of the game in the 3-2 victory for a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of 1-hit ball. Bangor holds a - advantage in the best-of- ACB Championship.
The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Yasutake Tomita came to bat in the bottom of the tenth. Facing Philadelphia pitcher Artie Wilkins, he hit a 1-1 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Bangor on top, 3-2.
"It'd be nice to win by four or five runs," bin Harun said, "instead of holding our breath the whole game."
