Pivotal Game Goes to Host Gunners, 2-0
In a pivotal Game , the Newark Gunners were hoping for a big game from starter Joe Todd. They got one.

The right-hander shut out the Brooklyn Bums, proving to be the difference-maker as he led his club to a 2-0 victory. The Gunners took the 2-0 win over the Brooklyn Bums to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.

Todd, the Newark right-hander, went 8 innings, allowing no earned runs on 5 hits. He collected 8 strikeouts.

"We aren't quitting," Brooklyn manager Kirk Medlin said. "Yeah, the odds are definitely in their favor, but they've got to earn it."
