ACB Championship Game 1 goes to Newark Thanks to Que
|
The Newark Gunners moved to within one game of the Round 3 today, downing the visiting Brooklyn Bums at The Armory by a score of 7-6. Gunners left fielder Zi-xing Que was named player of the game after he went 3 for 4 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The win gives the Gunners a - advantage in the best-of- ACB Championship.
Late-game drama came in the bottom of the eighth inning. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, the batter, Arturo Colón, hit a 2-run triple. It helped Newark seize the win.
"We haven't forgotten how long this series might be, but is a heck of a lot better than - ," Que said.
Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday. Slated to start are Alfredo Jiménez for the Newark Gunners and Henry Rivera for the the Brooklyn Bums.
