The Newark Gunners are one game away from a sweep of the Brooklyn Bums today after a 6-2 road win at Bushwick Stadium. Gunners right-hander Ramón García was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 9 innings of 7-hit ball. Newark now holds a - advantage in the best-of- ACB Championship.

García, who was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, threw 132 pitches over 9 innings, while allowing 2 earned runs.

"We're going to have to play flawless baseball from here on out," Brooklyn manager Kirk Medlin said. "Which, let's face it, we haven't been doing lately."

The next game is scheduled for Wednesday at The Armory in Newark. Slated to start are Phil McGrath for the Brooklyn Bums and Alfredo Jiménez for the the Newark Gunners.
