Almost There: Moncton On Cusp of ACBC Triumph After 7-2 Win
Game was big. So was Gordon Branham.

The Moncton starter rose to the occasion at Phoenix Ballpark today, earning player of the game honors after leading the Bucks to a crucial 7-2 victory over the Edinburgh Scots. Branham threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball as the Bucks won on the road to seize a - lead in the best-of- ACB Championship.

Moncton used the clutch hitting of Magnus Glas to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to give the Bucks the lead, 3-0. For the game, Glas had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Moncton manager Joel Odenbach.

Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow at Phoenix Ballpark. The scheduled starters for the game are Arabello Pagkalinawan for Moncton and Jim Barnes for Edinburgh.
