Rockville Stakes - Series With Walk-off win
The Rockville Superbas took the first game of the ACB Championship in dramatic fashion today, topping the Cardiff Alliance in a ninth-inning, walk-off, 5-4 win. Alliance right-hander Slobodan Zoric was selected player of the game despite the loss, as he threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball.

In the bottom of the ninth, with no one out and the game tied, 4-4, pinch hitter Ed Smith won it for Rockville. With a runner on 3rd, Smith hit a 2-0 cutter from Berde Gade for a run-scoring single, giving his team a 5-4 win.

"We're one game closer to our goal," Rockville manager Ray DeRoy said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."

Game 7 is scheduled for Thursday at Bute Park Cardiff City Stadium in Cardiff. Slated to start are Kevin Holmes for Rockville and Tomás Vargas for Cardiff.
