Almost There: Philadelphia On Cusp of ACBC Triumph After 2-1 Win
The Philadelphia Haymakers needed some last-minute heroics to do it, but ultimately emerged one game away from the Round 3 today. The Haymakers got the 2-1 win against the Halifax Golden Giants in a walk-off at Robert Boyd Memorial Stadium. Philadelphia right-hander Jimmy Bacon was named player of the game after a solid outing in which he threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Haymakers a - advantage in the best-of- ACB Championship.

Mark Dailey chipped in for Philadelphia with a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.

Bacon called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
