Still Kicking: Saint John Cut Cardiff Series Lead to - With Late Win
The Saint John Sasquatches went into extra innings against the Cardiff Alliance but ultimately moved to within one game of the Round 3 today. The Sasquatches downed the Alliance at Bute Park Cardiff City Stadium by a score of 6-4. Saint John right-hander Tero Kytölehto was named player of the game after a solid outing in which he came in in relief and pitched to 19 batters . The win gives the Sasquatches a - advantage in the best-of- ACB Championship.

Saint John used a timely hit from Rob Ávila to get the win. The second baseman delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the 20th inning to put the Sasquatches on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 8 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Kytölehto told the Saint John Bulletin. "It's as simple as that."

The next game is scheduled for Tuesday. Slated to start are Suhayb bin Mahmoud for Cardiff and Bobby McLean for Saint John.
