ACB Championship Game 1 Victory for Ringrose and Saint John
The Saint John Sasquatches moved to within one game of the Round 3 today, downing the visiting Poughkeepsie Sheriffs at Saint John Stadium by a score of 8-1. Sasquatches right-hander Tara Ringrose was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Sasquatches a - advantage in the best-of- ACB Championship.

Chad Ramírez aided the Saint John cause with a bases-clearing triple in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 5 with a triple. He drove in 3 runs.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Ramírez told the Saint John Daily News.

The next game is scheduled for Sunday, November 2nd, 1980 at Sheriffs Ballpark in Poughkeepsie. The scheduled starters for the game are Bobby McLean for Saint John and Von Murphy for Poughkeepsie.
