Sheriffs Rally Past Haymakers to Claim 1-0 Series Lead
The Poughkeepsie Sheriffs started the Division Finals in dramatic fashion today, stealing Game 1 from the Philadelphia Haymakers in a walk-off. Poughkeepsie won 2-1 behind a good day from starter Chao Men. The right-hander threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball in the win, which gave the Sheriffs a 1-0 lead to start the best-of-7 series.

Joel Lewis was the walk-off hero for Poughkeepsie. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Sheriffs pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.

Men told a Poughkeepsie Daily reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow in Poughkeepsie. The scheduled starters for the game are Ronaldo Delgado for the Philadelphia Haymakers and Barry Richard for the the Poughkeepsie Sheriffs.
