Saint John Takes Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair
The Saint John Sasquatches got a strong performance from pitcher Davis Ayliffe, who stymied the Moncton offense en route to a 2-1 win in Game 2 of the Division Finals today. The Bucks could never get a bead on the left-handed Ayliffe, who threw 5 innings allowing 1 run. The Sasquatches now hold a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-7 series.

Zak Wilson, the 1984 Golden Bat Award winner , had a direct impact on the outcome. Wilson contributed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Saint John up, 2-1.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Wilson.

The next game is set to be played Thursday, September 6th, 1990 in Saint John. The scheduled starters for the game are Terho Forsbacka for the Moncton Bucks and Héctor Pérez for the the Saint John Sasquatches.
