The Poughkeepsie Sheriffs are one game away from a sweep after beating the visiting Moncton Bucks, 3-2, at Sheriffs Ballpark today. Sheriffs right-hander Tyler Frisby had a standout performance in which he threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball. Poughkeepsie now holds a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 ACB Championship.

Frisby, a native of Port Elizabeth, South Africa, was dealing all game. He kept Moncton hitters off-balance, while giving the Sheriffs 8 quality innings. Frisby threw 100 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 5.

"Every loss hurts," said Moncton manager Joel Odenbach. "But this was a tough one."

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow in Poughkeepsie. The scheduled starters for the game are Terho Forsbacka for Moncton and Charlie Follows for Poughkeepsie.
