In leading Cardiff to a crucial 3-2 victory over the Fredericton Salamanders at Bute Park Cardiff City Stadium today, the Cardiff starter rose to the occasion, tossing 7 good innings and earning player of the game honors. Badr al Din threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball as the Alliance defended their home field to seize a - lead in the best-of- TBL Classic.

Had Cooper Keyser not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Keyser hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Alliance.

"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Keyser told the Cardiff Daily.
