Host Haymakers Drop Pivotal Game , Now Trail Series -
|
In a pivotal Game , the Cardiff Alliance were hoping for a big game from starter Qaraja Badr al Din. They got one.
The right-hander shut out the Philadelphia Haymakers, proving to be the difference-maker as he led his club to a 2-0 victory. The Alliance took the 2-0 win over the Philadelphia Haymakers to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.
Badr al Din allowed no earned runs on 7 hits over 8.1 innings for the Alliance. He walked 1 and struck out 3.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Cardiff manager Fedele Sapia.
Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow at Robert Boyd Memorial Stadium. Slated to start are Simon Schwer for the Cardiff Alliance and John Cole for the the Philadelphia Haymakers.
