Russell's Season Could be Over
Sunday, July 21st, 1991
Doctors in Fredericton said Jeff Russell might not play anymore this year. The Salamanders starting pitcher suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament during a game against the Moncton Bucks and will be out for at least 13 months. Club officials told BNN they do not expect him to return to the team this season.

Russell has fashioned a 7-4 mark for the season, 2.32 ERA and thrown 93 innings in 16 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .197 against him.
