Albany Comes up Empty Against Valentín
Friday, July 22nd, 1983
Pedro Valentín of the Rochester Redbirds was masterful today, pitching a 6-hit shutout, 6-0, against the Albany Capitals.

By going the distance, he was at the same time able to give his bullpen a rest, a fact appreciated by Rochester manager Augusto Rodríguez.

"It's nice to have someone who can do that from time to time," he said. "He had command of every ball and every pitch. Great location, too."

Valentín had 8 strikeouts and 2 walks in the outing.

This season Valentín has compiled a 4-0 mark with a 1.49 ERA.
