July's Starter of the Month Goes to Ahlapuro Thursday, August 1st, 1991 July's standout hurler was Juuso Ahlapuro of Portsmouth. He muzzled The Baseball League hitters and held them in check the entire month to capture the Pitcher of the Month award. To win the honor Ahlapuro compiled an impressive 4-0 mark and 1.96 ERA in 6 starts. The Diamonds star hurler also rung up 28 strikeouts in 41.1 innings. This season Ahlapuro has compiled a 8-6 record with a 3.26 ERA in 18 starts. |
