Scots Beat Baseball Stars in TBL Classic
Thursday, September 5th, 1991
It was a hard-fought battle for both teams to make it this far. But as the saying goes, "to the victors go the spoils." For the victorious Edinburgh Scots, that meant the The Baseball League TBL Classic trophy.
The Scots took a 4-1 victory over the Manchester City Baseball Stars at Hyde Road, winning their 1st championship after taking the series 4-3.
"We've got grit," said Scots right fielder José Thomas, who was named MVP of the series. "We know how to win when we have to."
The new titleholders completed the regular season with a second-place finish in the The Baseball League and a 60-48 record.
