Saturday, September 19th, 1987
Eddie Hebditch has been on a tear for several weeks, and his hitting streak just keeps getting longer. The 26-year-old North Bay Whalers first baseman extended his streak today to 20 games, going 2-for-3 as North Bay got the best of the Thunder Bay Mariners at Ballpark of Thunder Bay, 11-2.
"Eddie has been playing real well lately and we're proud of him," Whalers manager Derek Aplin said. Eddie Hebditch hit a solo-shot off Jim Dale in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, walked in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
In 48 games this season Hebditch has compiled a .429 batting average with 72 hits and 9 home runs. He has also scored 50 times and knocked in 48 runs.
