Songbirds Mathematically Out of Playoffs Wednesday, September 4th, 1991 The baseball world has known for a long time that the Elliot Lake Songbirds were not destined for the playoffs this year. But now it is official, as the team was mathematically eliminated from postseason contention today. This is the club's 13th playoff miss in a row. They last appeared in the postseason in 1978. In total, the Songbirds have missed the playoffs 67 times in their 80-year history. Elliot Lake last won the Round 1 in 1943. |
