Owen Sound Beavers Mathematically Out of Playoffs Wednesday, September 11th, 1991 Wakil Abdul said it's going to be "an awfully long offseason" for the Owen Sound Beavers after they missed the Northern Ontario League playoffs. The club came close, but ultimately ran out of games to secure a postseason spot and were eliminated from contention today. The Beavers have missed the playoffs 58 times in their 80 years as a Northern Ontario League franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 5th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 1985. In the last 10 seasons, the Beavers have missed the playoffs 7 times. Owen Sound last won the Round 1 in 1981. |
