Clemente Slams 6 Hits for Elliot Lake Thursday, September 12th, 1991 The Elliot Lake Songbirds tripped up the Owen Sound Beavers 17-6 today. The Songbirds were led by Jesús Clemente, their 32-year-old first baseman. Clemente made life miserable for Owen Sound pitchers all day, tagging them for 6 hits in 6 at-bats. Jesús Clemente singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI triple in the 5th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Bill McAlear in the 8th. On the year Clemente is hitting .293 with 83 hits, 5 home runs, 41 RBIs, .410 OBP and has scored 45 runs. |
