Saskatoon Cruises to Scott League Crown
Friday, September 13th, 1991
Let loose, Saskatoon fans, your team has won the Scott League.
The Saskatoon Gander have officially captured the crown, the 21st in franchise history.
"We've got a team that can do it all and we think do it just as well as anyone in the league," said starting pitcher Arturo Santana. "I hope no one is taking us lightly once the playoffs start."
Certainly the team's division crown will garner them a fair bit of respect, as the 83-39 record puts the club in position for the franchise's 10th Canadian Prarie Baseball championship.
"You never get tired of being in the playoffs," said manager Carlos León. "This is what you play for."
