Spruces Easily Win Oxford League
Friday, September 13th, 1991
Those expecting a dogfight in the Oxford League this year got quite the opposite - an early, easy division crown for the Brandon Spruces.

"When you look at how far we are ahead, it might look like it was an easy year, but it didn't feel that way for us," said shortstop Ron Walsh. "A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into putting us here."

With a current record of 89-33, the Spruces can no longer be caught, cinching up a 24th division title for the franchise.

Team manager Bob Burrill said his club will "take some time to celebrate" the division title, but then "it's right back to work."
