The Washington Post High School Pitcher of the Year for 1991 has been presented and the DC Prepatory Schools winner is Gene Lewis of Episcopal HS.

"It's always nice to receive an award like this," said Lewis. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Maroon star told reporters.

Lewis excelled with an impressive 6-2 record in 13 starts. In 73.2 innings he yielded 52 hits and 20 walks, while striking out 86 and compiling a fine 1.71 ERA.

He received 6 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Ken Wade of the Landon School Bears finished second in voting, while Edgardo Sánchez of the St. Stephens Saints finished third.
