Jean Barbier of the St. Mary's University Huskies had a tremendous season and was chosen the Pitching Letterman of the Year winner in the Royal Canadian Society of Letters and Athletics.

He crafted a standout 6-2 mark in 11 starts, striking out 104, while walking 39. He worked 72 innings, yielded 59 hits and posted a 2.88 ERA. Opposing clubs had a .212 average against him.

He received 3 first place votes out of a possible 4. Mahir Kameel of the Dalhousie University Tigers finished second in voting, while Gamal Ali of the University of New Brunswick Seawolves finished third with 1 first place vote.
