Churchill HS Blanked by Shelton Sunday, March 17th, 1991 Earl Shelton kept the opposition off the scoreboard and the Southeast HS Hawks were all smiles after winning 4-0 against the Churchill HS Bulldogs at Ballpark of Boston HS today. The right-handed Shelton gave up no runs in his start, permitted 3 hits and had 8 strikeouts. "If there was a stat for 'team shutout,' this would be it," Shelton said later. "My catcher called a great game, guys delivered at the plate and when I messed something up the guys behind me were where they needed to be." This season to date Shelton has a record of 3 wins and 2 losses with a 2.59 ERA, has appeared in 5 games and struck out 51 in 41.2 innings. |
