Barons Canseco Strikes out 15 Tuesday, April 2nd, 1991 Led by an outstanding performance from starter Alejandro Canseco, the Bethesda-Chevy Chase HS Barons topped the Col Magruder HS Colonels today by a score of 1-0 at Barons Ballpark. The 17-year-old Canseco brought his top game to the mound, striking out 15 batters while allowing 2 hits and giving up no walks. "He made a lot of good pitches out there," Colonels manager Tyler King said. "He made some of our guys look bad. We didn't help matters, but we really have to give him credit -- he didn't make many mistakes." To date Canseco is 5-2 in 8 starts with a 1.52 ERA and has 88 strikeouts in 59.1 innings. |
