Walker HS Devastated by Playoff Elimination Sunday, April 7th, 1991 Heartbreaking. Agonizing. Devastating. They were all words being used by the Walker HS Sluggers after today being mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. "It stings to come this close but come up short," said manager Joaquín Gallegos. Before this season, the Sluggers last missed the playoffs in 1989. In the 80 years they have been a DC Metro Public Schools franchise, they have missed the playoffs 34 times. In the last 10 years, they have missed the playoffs 6 times. Walker HS last won the Semi Finals in 1974. |
