GONE! GONE! GONE! 3 HRs for Morgan Sunday, April 7th, 1991 Chris Morgan went yard three times in a Perry HS Huskies victory over the Poolesville HS Falcons at Ballpark of Miami HS today. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Perry HS second baseman went 3-for-5 against Poolesville HS with 6 RBIs and 4 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Huskies to the 11-7 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Chris Morgan struck out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Bruno Pierson in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Bruno Pierson in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Lindsay Cabrera in the 6th, struck out in the 8th and walked in the 11th. This year Morgan has collected a .253 batting average to date with 37 hits in 146 at-bats, 26 RBIs, 8 home runs and scored 22 times. He has played in 38 games. |
