Boaden Raps 3 Homers Against Crossings
Friday, June 21st, 1991
The "hardest feat in sports" debate is a never-ending one with no correct answer, but hitting three home runs is certainly in the conversation. That's exactly what Damien Boaden did today at Mexicali Grounds, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 9-4.
"It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Boaden said. "Good things happen, when that happens."
The El Paso Potros first baseman blistered the Mexicali Crossings for 3 hits, batted in 4 runs and scored 4 times.
"It ain't like we weren't trying," Mexicali manager Alberto Bravo said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today."
Damien Boaden hit a solo-shot off Douggie Pretty in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Douggie Pretty in the 4th, walked in the 6th, walked in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Edward Williamson in the 9th.
Thus far this year Boaden has hit .250 with 6 home runs and 19 RBIs.
