Sturzo Twirls Les Blues to Shutout Victory
|
The English Academy Three Lions were almost helpless today in their 3-0 loss to the French Academy Les Blues and hurler Salvo Sturzo. Sturzo kept the Three Lions confused all game, spinning a 4-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Sturzo," English Academy manager said in his postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 16-year-old right-hander had 1 walk and 8 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Sturzo said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
This year Sturzo has a 3-3 record with a 3.35 ERA in 7 starts.
