Almost There: Washington On Cusp of ACBC Triumph After 3-2 Win
|
Despite a great performance by Phoenix starter Sebastian Niculescu, the Washington Grays defeated the Firebirds by the score of 3-2 at Firebirds Ballpark today. Niculescu threw 6 innings allowing 3 runs to earn player of the game honors, but could not prevent the Grays from moving one game closer to the Round 3. Washington now leads the ACB Championship - .
Edgar Luna helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run double to give Washington a 2-0 lead.
"I got everyone together and told them they did great today," Washington manager Scott Vibert told BNN reporters after the game. "But I warned them that even if we make it out of the ACB Championship, it's only going to get harder."
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow in Phoenix. Slated to start are Everett Moore for the Washington Grays and Mike Greene for the the Phoenix Firebirds.
