Almost There: Washington On Cusp of ACBC Triumph After 3-1 Win
|
The Washington Grays went into extra innings against the Phoenix Firebirds but ultimately moved to within one game of the Round 3 today. The Grays downed the Firebirds at Firebirds Ballpark by a score of 3-1. Washington left-hander Everett Moore was named player of the game after a solid outing in which he threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Grays a - advantage in the best-of- ACB Championship.
Masruq bin Dawud's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With no one out, he rapped a curveball from José Ramos for a run-scoring single. It put Washington in front, 2-1.
"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Phoenix manager Gustavo Trujillo.
