ACB Championship Game 1 Victory for Cugat and Moncton
|
The Moncton Bucks moved to within one game of the Round 3 today, downing the visiting Halifax Golden Giants at Resurgo Stadium by a score of 3-2. Bucks right-hander Javier Cugat was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Bucks a - advantage in the best-of- ACB Championship.
Jason Henry, who is a four-time All-Star, chipped in for Moncton with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"It was a good effort all around," said Henry.
Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow at Resurgo Stadium. The scheduled starters for the game are Darby Hicks for the Halifax Golden Giants and Jesse Moore for the the Moncton Bucks.
