Churns Win Tight Penn Race
Tuesday, September 3rd, 1991
For the 37th time in franchise history, the Lancaster Churns are champions of the Penn.
But it was no easy task, as the Churns battled until the season's final day in order to capture the title.
"It makes it worth all the effort to pull it out this late," said starting pitcher Michael Ingram. "It's hard to describe the feeling, but needless to say we're all feeling pretty good."
The team is tops in the division with a 87-53 record and the club will be looking for the 10th Pennsylvania Baseball Association championship in franchise history.
