Season May Be Over for Whalers Bergeron Saturday, June 22nd, 1991
The season is apparently over for Carroll Bergeron. The New Bedford Whalers medical staff informed the club that the right fielder will be out at least 7-8 months with a ruptured achilles tendon. Bergeron was hurt in the game against Portsmouth while running the bases. The doctors did not think he would recover prior to the end of the season.
This season Bergeron has hit at a .292 clip with 36 RBIs, 14 home runs and 52 runs scored. He has played in 57 games.
