Apples End Dekkers's Streak Friday, June 28th, 1991 Silvio Dekkers of the Rimouski Loggers came up empty at the plate today and went hitless in 3 at-bats for the first time in 23 games. Making matters even worse for the right fielder, Rimouski dropped the game to the Cote-Saint-Luc Apples 9-8. "It was not a good day today," Dekkers told the press in postgame comments. "We lost the game and the streak is over." In 52 games this season Dekkers has batted at a .336 pace with 72 hits and 8 home runs. |
