Ligue Magnifique Names Cobb Best Batter Monday, June 24th, 1985 It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Ligue Magnifique, but last week Bob Cobb of the Cote-Saint-Luc Apples reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Cobb rocked opposing pitching for a .524 average (11-for-21), 1 home run and 3 RBIs to come away with the award. So far this season Cobb has put up a .323 batting average with 41 hits, 2 home runs and 17 RBIs. |
