Super Swinger -- Brien Slams 5 Hits Sunday, September 15th, 1991 5 times is the charm -- at least for Kavan Brien. The Llanelli BC third baseman tore up the Barry Valesmen to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats at Llanelli Grounds today. The offensive onslaught from Brien powered the BC to a 6-2 win. "Brien was a tough out today," Barry manager Bob Belgrove said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure." Kavan Brien singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Roberto Gámez in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a three-run double in the 8th. This year Brien is batting .277 with 8 home runs and 30 RBIs. |
