Hit Parade: Whitley Pops 6 Hits Monday, August 27th, 1990 It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Johnny Whitley today. Whitley went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Bath pitchers. When the dust settled on the diamond at Dragons Ballpark, he had a 6-for-6 line and a day he will long remember. And the Saint Helier Dragons had a 20-6 victory over the ABC. "Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview. Johnny Whitley singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Iwan Santegoeds in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and walked in the 8th. This year Whitley is hitting .352 with 7 home runs and 40 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .463 clip and scored 71 runs. |
