Morgan Finally Fails, Streak Ends at 33
Tuesday, September 3rd, 1991
It just wasn't Joseph Morgan's day.
The Saint Helier Dragons took the 4-2 win today over the Gloucester Townsmen, but the Townsmen mound staff did what nobody else could -- they stopped the 33-game hitting streak of Dragons catcher Joseph Morgan.
"We might have focused a bit too much on stopping Morgan," Gloucester manager Jay Williams commented afterward. "He had a nice hitting streak going, but the Dragons have other hitters and they did their job today."
A look at his current stats shows Morgan with a .451 average, 5 home runs, 53 RBIs and 56 runs scored. He has played in 54 games.
