Playoff Bound: Dragons Win Wild Card
Wednesday, September 4th, 1991
The Saint Helier Dragons clubhouse was filled with loud music and revelry late into the night, as the team celebrated a Southern Alliance of Baseball Teams wild card position.
The team, whose record stands at 43-23, battled throughout the year, but ultimately saw the quest for the playoffs come down to the season's final games.
"I'd be lying if I said we knew we were going to make it," said catcher Joseph Morgan. "We did have confidence, but in the back of your mind you always wonder what's going to happen. There were some good teams pushing us."
Now the Dragons don't have to worry, as they are in position to potentially win the 8th Southern Alliance of Baseball Teams championship in franchise history.
